I hope this old Ivan Nova sticks around for a while

I haven't been able to see more than a few pitches of this game today, but FWIW, I REALLY like these alternate uniforms. I thought the Thursday military alternates of the last few years were hideous with the camoflage. I like these so much, I wouldn't mind breaking them out more often.

IMHO, that's a horrible call for two reasons.



1. The runner determines his own baseline. I don't actually agree with the way the rule is written. It seems to me the baseline should be objective. But, regardless of how I think the rule should be written, it's still the case that the runner can determine his own path to the base.



2. The second base umpire made the call 90 feet away when the third base umpire was standing literally two feet from the play.

If Vazquez gets out of this jam...
