Interesting all the attention going Cole's way with regard to sticky substances. Ton of pressure for his next start.
Good stuff about the substances, but also about the troubles the Yankees are having. While the Pirates might at least get some pity, no one will ever feel sorry for the Yankees. I found the little nugget about LeMahieu's aging, and the need for left handed hitting to be interesting. I wonder if Cashman has approached Cherington about Frazier?
Polanco bats left handed
There lies the problem. Polanco bats left-handed but he doesn't hit left-handed.

If only Cashman were that desperate.

How long back do Clint Frazier to the Pirates rumors/speculation go? McCutchen?

Cole used a lot of words to avoid admitting to using the sticky substance. A simple "no" would have sufficed if it was the answer.
"I don’t quite know how to answer that, to be honest."
"I mean, there are customs and practices that have been passed down from older players to younger players, from the last generation of players to this generation of players, and I think there are some things that are certainly out of bounds in that regard and I’ve stood pretty firm in terms of that, in terms of the communication between our peers and whatnot," he said.
" ... This is important to a lot of people that love the game, including the players in this room, including fans, including teams and so if MLB wants to legislate some more stuff that’s a conversation that we can have because ultimately we should all be pulling in the same direction on that."
