I did not see this coming from Kranick as he had a rather pedestrian ERA in the minors.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the Bucs recently have a call up that nearly no hit the Cards in his debut?

Yeah, Nick Kingham in 2018.

The delay saves Shelton from the decision of removing Koranic from the game or letting him continue in the next inning or two while he’s still pitching a perfect game or a no hitter.
