1951 does not count because it was not a real post-season playoff as we see now. It was simply a 3 game series to determine the winner of the NL pennant due to a tie in NL standings at the end of the season. If you want to be a purist Doc then my statement above is invalid.
By the way, I was only 3 yrs old and still learning what baseball was all about and I still had my baby teeth. My dad was jumping for joy after Thompson's "Shot Heard Around the World"!

Imagine is he had won the series with a walk off 7th game HR and hit .320 with 2 HRs in the series. I guess that would have been the shot heard round the universe!
