The 'Ol What The Heck Thread - Pirates and Phils game 1 2

Two elite organizations face off with the potential for the 1-1 draft pick perhaps at stake.  Remember- loses in June and July count the same as loses in September.

Through 3, the Phils are up 4-0.

About to go 0-4 vs. the teams with the two worst records in the NL.

It's sad, you think about this 7-game stretch and think maybe we can go 5-2, even 6-1.

Instead we're looking at 0-7, 1-6, 2-5 if we're lucky.

This should be an easy win since Hurdle was smart enough to sacrifice the game yesterday rest half the lineup yesterday. The Phillies will rue the day when they only jumped out to an early 4-0 lead against a well rested Cutch, Harrison, Freese and Diaz. What? Diaz wasn't going to play today anyway. Oh well, never mind about him. At least Hurdle managed to get Stewart's bat in the lineup yesterday to compensate for resting the others (again).

As we move into the 7th inning, I notice the Pirates look particularly rested, refreshed. Some might say the Pirates look down right spry. The Phillies on the other hand look fatigued, exhausted. Some might say they look down right un-spry.

The Buccos will win this 6-4.

OBN will be buzzing about the Pirates are still in this race. Already, I think the Pirates need to be buyers. They just need a couple pieces....

Yep. The Pirates look down right spry. The Phillies on the other hand look down right un-spry. Buccos will win this going away, 6-4.

That Rocky statue has to be the DUMBEST thing ever. Pittsburgh needs a prominent statue of Bill Murray playing the reporter in Groundhog Day.
