TOP 40 PROSPECT POLL REMINDER

Starting Monday our annual top 40 count-up. With this off-season being fairly uneventful so far, shouldn't be too many new faces. If a top prospect is acquired we will have a poll to see if they belong in a higher position than we are in the poll. If we have a tie, there will be no run-off. I will put 10-15 players in each poll. We currently have 8 carry-overs from last year's top 10, but I am not planning on putting them all in the first poll (I'm looking at you Will Craig). There will be top draft picks, players in their first season out of the Dominican, and more.

31 of last year's top 40 are eligible, although Edgar Santana, Dovydas, Moroff and Luplow will probably lose that status during the next year.

I have not read any of the Fan Graphs or Pirate Prospects' rankings, so your input on who to add next is important. Even on this first poll. Meadows and Keller and who else?

So I'm ready to roll, hope yinz guys are too...

Thank you for undertaking this again. It really helps pass January and is fun to think about.

It really has become one of the highlights of the off-season. Looking forward to it.
