It was noted on the game today that Diaz was in the clubhouse. I am wondering if they will activate him tomorrow. A possibility would be that they send out Brault, and keep 3 catchers for the time being.

Until tomorrow when Archer returns from suspension they are carrying 24 players including 12 pitchers and a 4-man bench. With Archer they have 13 pitchers and still just 4 bench players. When Diaz is activated it is unlikely they will go with 13 pitchers, 2 reserve catchers and only 2 other bench players.

Diaz now active, Stallings to IL with neck strain. They can buy some time by doing that. Also they can send him to AAA later on to a 20 day rehab assignment.

It's amazing how minor injuries often occur at the most convenient times. I guess there's nothing MLB can do about it since every player probably has 1 or 2 nagging pains once the season begins.

I saw something that Polanco may return during this homestand. They may then send Brault to Indy to get some innings. He hasn’t pitched in several games.
