Bae had a good game today going 1-2 with a home run 2 rbi, and 4 runs scored. He had 3 walks as well. He is one of the interesting middle infield Pirates prospects, who played some outfield in Altoona this past season.

Strange none of the pitchers have gone yet, and none are scheduled to today or tomorrow. I suppose they could be used in relief.

That seems to be what PBN,aka Pittsburgh Baseball Network is thinking. WTM is a pretty knowledgeable guy over there.

Bae is batting lead off tonight, and has a double and single so far. He is an interesting prospect.

According to PBN, Bellomy pitched two scoreless late in Friday night's game.

Bae had two infield hits in Monday’s game, and played centerfield for the second time. This position is interesting because with the Bucs having so many middle infielders, centerfield or outfield could be a future position for Bae. He could be an excellent lead off hitter for the future of the Pirates.

I'm not holding my breath about Bae being a leadoff hitter with speed. He has little experience in the OF, his glove does not play at SS and Gonsales is the 2B of the future. I think they might develop him as a weak power UIF.

A plus is that he is only 21, and not Rule 5 eligible yet. He could go back to AA and play more in CF, since the Indy OF seems like it would be full. No rush for him to develop those skills since he has next year, plus 3 option years. Obviously would want him up sooner than that,
Also, after having zero HRs, he clearly changed his swing while he was hurt, as he hit 8 HRs from July on. Not a ton of power, but enough that he is not going to be Newman like.
