Sadly, it doesn't matter what we could/would offer since BN would never pay him. He's making $7.4M this year in his first(?) year of arbitration. He has two more left after this one. His arb price will be >$10M by 2020 if not next year. He's also about to turn 30.
Now, I would pay a ton for Syndergaard. He's turning 26 soon, is paid $2.9M this year and has 3 years of arb left. The Mets should be trying to sign him long term, but he was a 1st round pick, so he already has some money.
We lack the quantities of high end prospects it will take for either of those guys.
