What is your opinion about second base next year?

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Harrison is dealt to make room for Frazier to start at second base. Harrison is the better defender by far and their bats might be kind of even. We can see Frazier's potential at the plate, as Harrison had a very fine year at the plate.

Harrison's contract really starts to kick in next year. Is he worth $10.25 million? Is he worth $9.75 million more than Frazier?

I truly believe they need to tear it down. Trade Harrison.

If it's all about saving money (which wouldn't surprise anyone), we could see Harrison and Cutch both gone with Moroff at 2B and Frazier in the OF.

Harrison is a much better fielder than Frazier. I think if Kang does not return then they may have a platoon at third with a Freese and Harrison. I agree that Harrison's contract kicks in next season, but when compared to other contracts it is not out of line. In my opinion Frazier is a better outfielder than infielder, and I agree he belongs in the everyday lineup next year. He probably works the count better than anyone they have on the team which is important in this day of pitch counts.

Kang might make a trade of Harrison easier. It isn't that Harrison is overpaid, but Frazier might be just as good. Younger guys who produce get their chances. That's how Harrison became a starter too.

Replacing McCutchen with Frazier would be a huge drop off in talent. The same wouldn't be as extreme from Harrison to Frazier in my opinion. The Pirates have enough back ups in Moroff and Rodriguez too.

The Bucs need additional talent. Harrison may be one of the players that the Pirates could move to acquire more talent.

I like Harrison's spirit, his hustle (although some of his base running decisions are not the best) his defensive ability at second, and his versatility and his willingness to play at multiple positions. While it is good that he has shown more power this season, he is not a disciplined hitter. He has had two plus offensive seasons, 2014 and this year, but his numbers in most other years have been fairly pedestrian.

If the Bucs had more offensive talent, I could see the Bucs keeping Harrison for the good things that he does. But, because other teams may value his versatility and other positives, he may have greater value in a trade. Regardless, if the Bucs open the 2018 season with Harrison I will not be disappointed. I do not view him as the 'problem'.

Like others, I now view Frazier as an outfielder more than an infielder. I also identified him as one of the three position players that I would keep for next year (Marte, Bell & Frazier) among the current starters.

I expect Harrison to be traded. Next year's budget will not be more than this year and likely will be less. The way NH is able to field a passable team is to cut the higher salaries (Cutch and Harrison) and replace them with cheaper options. I don't see Frazier as a starter. He works as a bench bat and utility player but the defense is too bad for day to day. I would expect to see one of the AAA infielders take over at second.

If you don't think Frazier can do the job, I get why you would think it's based solely on payroll. I think Frazier can get the job done just as well as Harrison and probably hit a little better consistently to make the move. I see Harrison as a valuable player to most teams, also why I think he might be traded as a return could be pretty good.

You're making the team worse.  Will you be signing mostakas with the extra $ or buying more ski resorts?   Key question

If Frazier is good enough to replace him, wouldnt Frazier at league min for the next 5 years turn us a much better trade haul than Harrison?
