Seems like all the coaches will be back for 2017. Thirdbase coach was questionable at times, base running was horrible and team defense was ugly. Might there not be a need to tweak this a little!

Is Shofield also the base running coach? They need somebody to teach base running skills, and in particular to stay on the base when sliding since we now have replay.

I was stunned by how poor the defense appeared to be this season. The team still made shifts and moved the outfield in because previous years data indicated that was the way to go. It was a lot of the same players as year before but results were much different. Have no idea of the solution, it is players, coaching or something else.

It was the same bad base runners as season past. The only difference was that Walker and Alvarez were gone to help outweigh the bad ones.

I would get some instruction to Harrison, Polanco and Marte. With their speed and understanding, they can become very good base runners.

Doesn't Omar Moreno go to camp? What is Rickey Henderson and Vince Coleman doing these days?

I think I saw that Sofield is also the base running coach. He may be good at that. There is a difference between telling people the theory of what to do and making instant decisions in the heat of a play. Whatever, though, the results don't look good to the casual viewer. The team seems to run itself out of a lot of potential scoring situations.

I agree that Soefield needs to go. I don't care if he is close friends with Hurdle this isn't the keep your coaches on a staff because they are your friends league. Soefield has failed and failed miserably at his job and he needs to be replaced period.

I don't care if he is assigned elsewhere but he should never coach third again. His lack of game awareness came through a several times and for a major league coach that is inexcusable.
