8 spot for the Diamondbacks. Silver lining is Davis and Holmes shouldn't be available tomorrow.

I'm going out on a limb and say a position player will pitch the 8th, even though Mears was warming up.

I'll find out tomorrow. I think one 6 run comeback is the limit.

As of today the Pirates would draft #5. There is no way that helps this organization.

On June 9, Holmes had a very nice ERA of 2.63 with just 9 walks in 27.1 innings. Since that time he has pitched 13 innings and given up 13 hits, 15 ERs and 16 walks for an ERA of 10.38. He was ineffective in prior years and after early success this season, he is worse than ever. He's also 28 and not looking like a part of the team's future. And when you have a manager pulling a starter after 77 pitches, you win or lose with guys like Austin Davis or Holmes.
