The scouts that signed those players I can see punishing, but not the players.

Braves Punishment

I am pleased with the justified and necessary punishment MLB administered on the Braves and the guilty actors within. Teams like the Bucs already suffer enough financial disadvantage, they certainly don't need the added barriers created by cheaters. While the Braves have been the biggest --or most reckless -- cheats on the international market, they are far from the only ones. You can bet while investigating the Braves, MLB uncovered plenty of incriminating evidence on other teams and agents. How far do they go? This could be a case where pulling one thread ends up unravelling most of the sweater. Perhaps the plan is to make an example of the Braves and hope everyone else will straighten up going forward. My guess is as people start singing, MLB will probably be compelled to dole out additional justice to more teams.

I wonder how much more if any devious dealings with the Latin American players is going on in the Pirates organization.

Was the Gayo "mini" controversy all there was or could there be more stuff going on under Gayo's guidance?

Was Gayo the "sacrificial lamb" so to speak by the Pirates to hopefully keep the MLB powers that be off the Pirates backs about any further cheating done by Gayo and his crew?

I just wonder!

Good point. There really is room for wonder there.

I get the impression "things" happen in the LA world on all sides and from all teams:. a shady shady biz.  Which makes me wonder what the braves did that was so agregious as to get them kneecapped as they did.

What gayo is accused of wouldn't benefit the pirates organization.  If anything it could have caused them direct harm if it got him to sign a player he ordinarily wouldn't have if there wasn't something extra in it for him.
