Piratefest Announced Today
Piratefest will be held this year at a PNC Park on December 9th. Besides the new venue I noticed that the Fanfest will be held right before the Winter Meetings which begin the following day. If any trades are made during the Meetings the fans will not get the opportunity to ask Management about them.

that sounds like a good plan on management's part.
Edit - I hope VAPirate attends and reports on Fanfest.

Various places such as the Riverwalk, Club Level and the Conference Room. If it is a typical December day it will be cold on the Riverwalk.

I don't like this. It will be crowded everywhere. Is this a chance for fans to see the ballpark? Like, something big might happen (more like a rebuild).

I am not sure it'll be any more crowded than the convention center. Maybe they'll take people underneath to the batting cages and lockers and stuff too--that would be cool.

A lot more space in the Convention Center than PNC Park. The concession areas, riverwalk, club level could be more crowded based on the space provided.
Letting fans in the dugout, or to see the cages/clubhouse might be a way to win fans over, keep fans due to changes being made. I'm a little skeptical of a motive here, that's all.

See what you mean, but what are the normal attendances of Piratefest? You have to think that the concession areas and stairs and such are equipped for 30k+ people all leaving the game at one time.

With attendance down and TV ratings down, maybe they want a new location to make it difficult to compare crowd sizes.
You don't think they are just trying to save rent of a hall?
Nah...

I have an idea! Lets have the fanfest OUTDOORS in December in Pittsburgh! That'll bring em' out.
Granted, it's early December so maybe it will be one of those mild 40 degree December days
