That thinking was never here,imo. We just dabbled in scrubs for 15 years with a couple of exceptions..
The thinking that needs to go away is the " we can lose without him" mentality that requires rock solid, signed in blood guarantees that picking up a player will get us a pennant and if it doesn't, there's little point and we should horde more "prospects"

I don't think the organization sees it as a "loser mentality and defeatism." I think they see it as trying to put together a winning team while restricting themselves to a very low payroll. And that's the problem. They are continually in the "maybe we can get lucky with this guy" mode. Of course it's nonsense. But that is the front office the fans are counting on to produce a winner. I don't think the organization sees it as a "loser mentality and defeatism." I think they see it as trying to put together a winning team while restricting themselves to a very low payroll.
