Maybe I just don't understand the game that well.....3-0 count on a guy who is just making his way back to the bigs, and they let Gonzalez swing away on a 3-0 count.
I get that they try and get players back on track. This wasn't the time and place.
On to the bottom of the 10th. Nice thing about the sac fly is that runner on second doesn't mean a thing...well unless they hit a HR

Watching other games, it's starting to amaze me how many former players actually like this idea. I'm not always sure if they're being a shill or playing devil's advocate to their broadcast partner.
I've never understood how it was supposed to mitigate the covid. Also, the runner on second doesn't count against the pitcher as an earned run. But the runner gets credit for a run scored, and if he's driven in the batter gets credit for an RBI, which go on historical records. I wonder how many more RBI Aaron and Ruth would have had with this concoction.
And another question I have...is this set in stone the rest of the season? With practically everyone opening up come June or July?
I think it was on MLB network they were saying how few games actually make it to the 12th inning in normal baseball when they go extras, so using this as a "speeding up the game" thing doesn't pass muster either.
