This is the Toronto pitcher's debut?

We made him look like Greg Maddox in the top of the first.

Lots of time to figure him out though.

I like watching Williams pitch. He really mixes his pitches and uses the whole plate. He looks like he has a screwball. Barney just had to fight one off so much his swing just caught Cervelli in the head.

Bucs finally get back to .500 and have a favorable matchup against a rookie pitcher. So, naturally, they're playing like they are not comfortable at .500 and need to drop below it again. This is such a frustrating team to watch. And Jaso continues to play as he plummets toward the Mendoza line.

We're once again making a call up look like an All Star. Can't scratch more than 1 run though 5? Not good.

And now Williams loads the bases again with a combination of hit batter and walks.

4-1

And now Polanco leaves with a hamstring ... AGAIN.

I wonder if the Pirates would consider, oh, I don't know, maybe ACQUIRING AN OUTFIELDER since we never seem to have more than 1 healthy one available every game?

As soon as I saw that the Blue Jays were calling up a non-descript prospect to make his major league debut, I chalked it up in the L column. I've seen this story unfold WAY too many times over the last few years.

I actually thought Williams looked strong over the first 4 innings, and when he was missing he was barely missing and the home plate ump certainly wasn't doing him any favors. He wasn't getting any of the borderline calls.

I was hoping to get a win today and have this series wrapped up before having to face Happ tomorrow. I think we all know how that one is going to turn out.

Swinging bunt and Jays score two more runs. I figured they would score off Benoit. He is not very good!

This game got off track for a few reasons, but I would hope in the future if Frazier and SRod are in the game at the same time, SRod is in the infield and Frazier is in the outfield. I think SRod would have completed the double play on the play Frazier made an error on.

The tone of this game was established in the top of 1st. You know Rawley had to be a bundle of nerves and basically scared to death making his debut.

So what did the Pirates do? Well Marte and Harrison combined to swing at 4 pitches that were low and outside and in the dirt. Yes, FOUR. Inexcusable approach in that situation ... but at the same time totally predictable.
