Has the Stewart Option Actually Been Declined

Post by fjk090852-7 »

We all read a few weeks ago that the Bucs have declined the option for Chris Stewart. When you check the Pirates 40 man roster on their MLB Site he is still listed. Also under current transactions it does not mention that Stewart's option was declined. Is he still Pirate property, or is he a free agent ?

ESPN has him listed as a current free agent.

I agree he should be a free agent, but one would think that whomever updates the roster on the MLB Site would have removed Stewart by now. They did add Nick Turley who they signed as a minor league free agent last week. On Monday the rosters must be set ,so I hope on Monday night Stewart is still not listed. I will be shocked if they come out and report that they worked out a new one year contract.
