I believe he can if it can be proved that he is actually hurt. Only thing is that he takes up a roster spot unless he is on the 60 DL. And you still have to pay his salary.

I wonder if it's an insurance issue. And who knows, maybe they actually do think he can get right again.

Right, he wastes no service time. He could turn it around. Does he have a better chance of turning it around compared to a young pitcher finally making it?

The 40 Man doesn't really matter. There are plenty of players on the 40 Man who won't sniff the majors this year.

I think MLB needs to make sure these guys are hurt. We see it all the time. A few bad outings, they go on the DL.

I know what you're saying, but if all parties are okay with it I don't think it'll change. The teams like it. The players want to get better. The union gets +1 person making major league salary.

The NFL gets fined daily for wrong injury reports. Do you know Tom Brady was on NE's injury report for years every week (funny the one week he was off of it, he got hurt)? They were fined every week too. I know they didn't care, but at least the NFL was noticing.

MLB does none of this to my knowledge.

They would never admit it, but I'm about 95% certain that NFL's concern with the injury reports is directly related to sports gambling.
