Bucs lose. Another showing much like too many other games this year so far: no runs, four hits, 10 strikeouts. What will it take for the owner to make changes, starting with the way he operates the franchise, and then ridding the organization of its worthless president, his ineffective GM, his horrible field manager, and all the pencil-necked geeks in the back offices?

As it turned out, this game was over after the first batter.
Can anyone here play this game?

Nice outing by Keller.

I guess all is right with the world again. 4 hits for the Bucs. There is a pattern with this team's offensive offense.

I was very optimistic this season especially with the depth of starting pitching. The team has suffered an inordinate amount of injuries and having both Jones and Oviedo not available until mid season hurts. But from the last week of spring training through the first 3 weeks of the season this team has consistently played some of the worst baseball I have ever seen.
Worst hitting in the MLB
Horrible run differential
Terrible defense
Numerous mental errors
Poor communication on the field
Despite a nice number of SB’s, baserunning mistakes a plenty
Stupid 3B coaching decisions sending runners out by 10 feet
The team is clearly pressing and the fans have had enough
The answer from our manager: “We just have to get better”
The situation is getting close to hopeless
I will keep my remaining hope that the return of the players on the IL might salvage the season, but I am having doubts.

Never was a truer statement made. This team is horrible in so many ways. These guys are supposed to be pros! They play like a below-average HS team with constant mistakes on defense, baserunning, and coaching decisions. It’s unbearable.
My name is true; I can’t watch these “baseball players.”
New silver lining: you don’t notice CruzControl’s bonehead plays as much since everybody does the same. It’s contagious.

As a fan, with the exception for when Skenes pitches, there isn't one reason to be excited for a game. There isn't a single player who makes me want to stop what I'm doing and give my full attention to his at bat. Instead, almost all the time, I'm observing in fear of what's going to go wrong, both when we're at bat and when we're in the field. This is a sadly inept group of players.
There's one man to blame, and he's shown no indication at this point that there's any reason to be concerned. Just imagine how much worse it would be if the organization hadn't worked so hard during the offseason to put a championship caliber team on the field for this year.

this is a nice summary. You can say all you want that it is the players and not coaches but the number of fundamental mistakes is damning to the coaches and instruction throughout the system. I haven't been able to see any Bucco minor league games in person for the past few years but I think it is easy to believe that the minor league teams play as dumb of baseball as the big league team.JollyRoger8 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 3:04 am I was very optimistic this season especially with the depth of starting pitching.
