Re: Where Did The Bricks Go
The biggest problem with this situation is that in all things the Pirates are not transparent. Why not report last fall that the pavers needed replaced, and if anyone wished to get their brick they could get it between such and such dates. Sure some bricks would have been damaged when being lifted, but if an individual wanted the brick that they purchased come to the ballpark and get it. The Pirates are so secretive about things, and when something gets exposed all heck breaks loose. My brick said Pirate Memories…Family. I am 72 and my family especially my late Dad told me about Pie Traynor, the Waner Brothers and Max Carey as well as others. Pirates Baseball is a family tradition that has been past down from generations, but I wonder how long it will last with this current ownership.

yes, this would have been a good plan. There are probably lots of good plans for handling the bricks. The Pirates picked the bad plan again. Clemente wall, bricks, what is next?fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 12:20 am The biggest problem with this situation is that in all things the Pirates are not transparent. If this is true, that’s great. But then why didn’t they announce their plans when they first finalized them? The answer is, they had no plan. These guys are buffoons, and I apologize to all buffoons everywhere for associating these guys with them.3pirates3 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:33 pm Now the PR team wakes up - https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/pir ... 2504080081
Why not designate a time and location for people to claim their brick? They claim they are going to replace the bricks but the other story says it may be a vertical structure instead.
Re: Where Did The Bricks Go
Yep, seems like they made up a plan/story after the fact. Did they really think people wouldn't notice the missing bricks?

Re: Where Did The Bricks Go
In today’s Trib there is an apology from Bob Nutting regarding the brick situation. To me it appears his apology was to Joe Rutter who is a sports writer for the Trib who wrote a column this week about his brick which is Dad bought for him. Rutter published Nuttings response in today’s Trib. I think Nutting should have that same apology on the Pirates MLB Official Website. If someone didn’t look at the Trib they would never see the apology. In my opinion it should be a Press Release by Nutting to all the Pirates fans explaining how inappropriate this situation was handled.
Re: Where Did The Bricks Go
I read his apology. It’s empty and meaningless. There’s no way he didn’t know the bricks were going to be discarded because he knows everything that goes on in his business. He didn’t care about them then and doesn’t care about them now because he’s incapable of understanding what they meant to the people who bought them. Profit is the only thing he cares about.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:56 pm In today’s Trib there is an apology from Bob Nutting regarding the brick situation. how did they replace bricks the other two times? Overnight repair so no one noticed?
