Cruz deep sac fly. 8-2. Cards have run into an offensive juggernaut.

Harrington with a 4-inning save. I can’t often find good things to say about Shelton, but he only used two pitchers in a game when his starter went only 5 innings. And both pitchers gained confidence. Good job!

I read a heart warming story about the Cardinals catcher Pozo who hit a HR in the game tonight. 5 years ago he and his family were homeless and he was living out of his car. His newborn son had a stroke/seizure and was hospitalized. Covid had wiped out the Minor League season and he was working delivering food to try and make ends meet. The last 5 years in the minors his wife and kids always accompany him on road trips so he can be with his son if his son has an episode. When he got the call to the Majors his wife and kids drove from Tennessee to Pittsburgh to be there. They were behind the Cardinal dugout and he was able to signal to them as a rounded the bases after hitting his HR.

Paid attendance 8,250 for the game. Not a nice night and by waiting one more day you could see Skenes. It'll be interesting to see the attendance for Skenes.
