Good bye Williams. He has been designated for assignment. The deal for Mayza was made official today.

There is a God. He must’ve been on the other side of the universe for a year or so.

I'm guessing he'll get picked up quickly. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Adam Frazier signing. But at least there's one less middle infield guy.

If you consider the net result of the recent shuffling actions as a trade of Williams for Frazier, the main difference is veteran experience. Veteranoscity, is that called? With so many young players, they may be concerned they need some older voices on the team.

I won't discount the importance of veteran leadership but I'd prefer that the veteran be someone who can hit lots of home runs.

Frazier managed to hit .202 last year. Maybe they think he'll be a good influence on Bae (.189), Suwinski (.182) and Davis (.144). :D

Ramon Laueano who I considered a possible corner outfielder has signed with the Orioles for 4 million dollars. I guess too expensive for the Pirates.

And if he can't help, maybe they can send for Abraham Nunez. I'm sure Lloyd McLendon remembers how to call on him. He only did it every frickin' night.

Until I saw Shelton, McClendon was the worst manager I ever saw. Nunez was a good fielder and weak hitter. But he was McClendon's favorite PHer (at which he was horrible) and usually out of the game after that so that he wasn't available for late inning defense.

I go back and forth between McClendon and John Russell as being the worst. On most nights I wasn't sure if Russell even had a pulse. McClendon was a screw-up because he made decisions. Russell was bad because he didn't do anything.
