The Pirates season is scheduled begins March 27. Please indicate your predictions for W-L record and total runs the Pirates will score (as the tiebreaker). Entries due prior to opening day game.

Our defending champion is Javy! Good luck to all.

thanks for starting this. I plan on waiting to make my official prediction until later in spring training so that Ben has a chance to make more moves.

I agree I will hold off making a prediction to see if the Pirates make any additional moves. At this point, I wonder if they are better than the 76 wins the past two seasons. It has been a disappointing offseason to say the least.

Listening to Jack Hillgrove on The Fan this morning, and he was discussing the Pirates upcoming season, and was saying with a full year of Paul Skenes the Bucs should at least get 4 more wins in 2025. Boy, I would hope he is right because we need a season that is competitive. In my mind the one thing they need to avoid are those long losing streaks. I think under Shelton the Pirates have had one every year he has managed. Eight and ten game losing streaks buries a team.
We have time to make our predictions, but as the team is now constructed it is going to be tough to predict a winning season. One big injury, and it could cripple the season.

With the offense, other than Reynolds or Cruz getting hurt or having a bad season, no one is really being counted on for an impactful year. Cherington seems content with minimal hitting. But if Skenes, Jones or Kelker gets hurt or doesn't have a good season, it'll be crushing. And of course there will be a handful of games where Shelton snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

But winning four more games, for a total of 80, is still failure. We as fans, and the Pirates as an organization, shouldn’t be okay with that. We shouldn’t have to be satisfied with below average performances from the management and the players year after year.
