Maybe we can petition to all manage the Pirates for one day this season!
How are we going to split up the Manager Of The Year trophy?
We'll do it like the teams do with the Stanley Cup, every guy gets the trophy for a party. We'll go by age, I think that would only be fair. Doc should be going first I imagine, we'll notify him the same way he got his mail as a young man, by Pony Express.

That would match the number of different line-ups Shelton will put together.

Don't be ridiculous. Ponies hadn't been invented yet.

I think this is the make or break year for DS and GMBC. If they get off to a slow start, DS will be gone. If the season doesn't end in the playoffs, I think there will be an entire house cleaning once again, starting with the president.

I can almost feel the reset button being pushed.

They just have to try to stay under the radar and not do anything stupid/costly (e.g. Morris/Archer trades).

I think Shelton is on the hot seat more so than Ben Cherington. If they start off slow I could see the Pirates moving on from Shelton and putting Don Kelly in charge. When you fire the GM there are more pieces of the Operations Staff which may be replaced because they were hired by the now fired GM. I think if they fire Cherington we are going to begin another rebuild. My guess is he has a couple more years to turn the franchise into a winner.
