Hopefully Matt Hague can help some of the Pirates young hitters like Henry Davis. I think he is important for the future of the franchise.

I can dream about Shelton being replaced, but in 1960 the Phillies lost their opening day game after which manager Eddie Sawyer resigned. He was quoted as saying, “I’m 49 years old, and I want to live to be 50.” He never managed again and lived to be 87 so apparently he knew what he was doing. :D

Good story. Had he hung around until the 1964 season, he’d have probably jumped off a bridge in the final week of that season.

Maybe we can petition to all manage the Pirates for one day this season!

How are we going to split up the Manager Of The Year trophy?
