If Reynolds can handle first base adequately, then I’m all for moving him. It’d be easier to find an outfielder than a first baseman, although one would never know that with the trouble the Pirates have had finding a right fielder these past 30 years.

All these other rule changes, whether there's agreement on them or not, at least IMHO haven't made the game look like a circus.

If this rule were to be implemented, I will immediately stop watching, following, attending baseball. Which won't matter, because there is no doubt in my mind MLB baseball will become a footnote in history, going the way of "Battle of the Network Stars".
Me too. I've been a fan of baseball all my life. But if they implement this monstrosity, it will be the death of baseball and I won't be a fan of whatever it is they call this new thing.

I have read in a couple places the Pirates maybe in on Tyler O’Neal which would be a good player to bring on board. If they sign O’Neal which would cost more than the type of player they normally sign, they could forgo signing a first baseman, and use Endy Rodriguez and Billy Cook at first base. Possibly they could also begin working Henry Davis at first base. I think this scenario works much better than bringing in an outfielder and first baseman which are less talented then a player like O’Neal. The first 5 players in the lineup would look something like this depending Cutch returns:
IKF
Reynolds
Cutch
Cruz
O’Neal

Prospect for prospect works for the Red Sox, because they'll spend money to fill in holes. I would be okay with this if it weren't for the fact we need someone proven at the MLB level, not a suspect.

Casas does have some MLB experience, SB. He's a bit of a character though.

Wait a second. Haven't we been told that it's not possible for a small market club to hand out a contract of that size?

I am glad to see the Pirates finally announced the signing of Brent Strom. He has been a pitching coach for several years, and I think he and Oscar Marin will help to further develop the young pitchers. Possibly even a pitcher like Bednar, could regain the availability to close out games. I am impressed with the two coaches the Pirates have hired so far this offseason. Now let’s bring in a couple new offensive players.
