Pham makes another out. Santana obviously didn’t get the memo that he wears us out. One down.

Couple of thoughts ...

* First of all, I am basically stunned at 48-48 and just 1.5 games out of playoff position.

* Pirates are 29-23 (.558) over the last 2 months, dating back to May 16. Again, I am stunned.

* I can't believe I'm saying this or even thinking it, but if the pitchers can stay healthy and the offense can get just a little bit better over the final 66 games, this team actually has a legit shot at the postseason. Wow.

* Now 5 days off. I'm going to really enjoy the draft tonight, the All-Star Game on Tuesday and all the media coverage reviewing the first half and making projections and predictions for the second half. And there will be some baseball media picking the Pirates to make the playoffs.

Raise It- It was mentioned on the broadcast that this is the first time
since 2016 that the bucs have been at .500 at the All Star break.
Maybe now a certain relative of mine can quit being a broken record and
can put a lid on it.

The pitching has shown it's good enough to compete in the playoffs but the offense needs help. Beating up on the White Sox in July is one thing, going against the Dodgers, Phillies, and Braves in October is another. Two legit power bats in our line-up would raise this team to another level. It's up to the owner and the GM now.

100% agree. This team could be something if our brain trust wants to try for Playoffs. I am getting a little more confident about our bats (some) but when we have men on base and have to rely on guys like Suwinski it's depressing.
