Hey the Pirates are now 69-66 on the year ... if you don't count the 10-game losing streak!

Those 10 days ruined the season.

Pirates started Keller, Jones and Skenes.

Pirates averaged 7.7 runs per game.

Pirates were swept.

Most Pirates series ever.

Pirates out-hitting the Padres, 5-0.

But trailing, 1-0.

Classic Pirates.

Couple of thoughts ... * First of all, I am basically stunned at 48-48 and just 1.5 games out of playoff position. * Pirates are 29-23 (.558) over the last 2 months, dating back to May 16. Again, I am stunned. * I can't believe I'm saying this or even thinking it, but if the pitchers can stay health...

And now Cutch and Gonzalez won't play tomorrow in a game we really need to win because they need some rest since they haven't had a day off since THURSDAY.

The whole "resting" think drives me nuts. The Pirates were off last Monday. Cutch and Gonzalez were given the day off to "rest" last Thursday. The Pirates were off again this past Thursday. So in a span of 10 days, Cutch and GOnzalez had 3 days to "rest." So OF COURSE t...

I'm guessing Gonzo will need a day off today ... because he only had last Monday off, then they gave him last Thurs. off in STL, and he gets tomorrow off too. So he's probably going to need some extra rest today so that he'll be ready to go for the playoff push in September.

How in the world did the Pirates go 15-12 between May 16 and June 16 ???
