I wonder about Davis. He doesn't seem to actually have a position. Unless his defense in right improves, he's not an outfielder, and he hasn't shown (or had opportunity to show) that he can be an ML catcher. He would be my first thought on a trade candidate if they decide to thin the catcher ranks....

Pirates have signed Ali Sanchez to a Major League Contract. It is a little surprising to me with Endy, Delay and Davis on the 40 man roster. Possibly they are thinking to have Endy and Triolo platoon at first base and spend money on free agent pitching rather than address a free agent for first base.

It appears Thomas Hatch is signing a contract to pitch overseas. The Pirates roster is now at 36 players.

The Pirates have hired Sarah Gelles as an assistant GM. Sarah Gelles appears to have a very good background with her time with the Orioles, and Astros. I am a little surprised that one of Ben Cheringtons current assistants such as Steve Sanders was not promoted.
