I don't freaking believe it.  Shelty must not read OBN because he is doing exactly what we OBN GMs have been advising him not to do.  Van Meter and Yoshi are in there despite our advice.

On the other hand, due to heavy rain forecast by game time maybe Shelty will be lucky today and get a do again tomorrow.

It's so awesome to have VanMeter batting 5th. That valuable LH bat is raking RHPs to the tune of a .177 BA. Overall, he's at .171 because he's even worse vs LHPs. But performance doesn't matter. Shelton's book says LH batter vs RHP. Besides, Chavis needs a rest. He started 1 game this week.

Maybe Shelton is just a cockeyed optimist. He probably hopes VanMeter can reach his 2021 BA of .212 when he had his career high 274 ABs. Even Shelton is probably not enough of an optimist to expect VanMeter to get to his career best .237 of 2019.

Maybe it'll rain.

Maybe by July 7th, Cruz will be on the MLB roster, as well as a couple of the other prospects from Indy.
