Suwinski hits another Jack last night to he needs a rest. Great managing Shelty!

Baseball geniuses.

It's part of Cherington's plan to give guys so much time off.

They'll get a lot more 'experience' by not playing. Spread it around

As luck would have it, I had SuWINski in the ROY poll. :(

Shelton manages every game as though it's the Grapefruit League. The lineups appear to have nothing to do with performance and seem to be based on preconceived notions of who to rest and who to stick in the lineup just to see what, if anything, they can do. It's always been this way with Shelton. IMO he isn't trying to lose, but he just isn't really trying to win either. Winning or losing doesn't seem to matter to him. It's all about making sure everyone gets plenty of rest and everyone gets plenty of chances to play. Just like the Grapefruit League. Or Little League.

Stupid Question, I admit:

How is the Bucs' pitcher's first name pronounced?

I thought it was "RONE-zee."

Listening to the Braves' feed, these guys say, "ROW-anZEE."

I think I figured it out. When a player has a good night on the road, in this case Suwinski, Cherington sends a Call Girl to the hotel room. She tires him out. Thus a day off is in order. Not sure how they are rewarded at home

Suwinski is red hot. 8 game hitting streak batting .400 in that span with 3 HRs. Vogelbach is now 0 for his last 12 and came into tonight hitting .125 for his last 8 games. Suwinski and Vogelbach ate both LH batters vs tonight's RHP. So in typical Shelton fashion, Suwinski gets a rest so that Vogelbach can DH and bat 3rd so that he gets more ABs because it will be good for him. It's the opposite of what a manager would do who was trying his best to win the game. But it's exactly what a manager would do if the game didn't matter.

Nice job by Contreras to strand Acuna at 2B after a leadoff double. The kid looks like he can pitch. :)

It's hard to believe that 8 other major League teams have struck out more times than the Pirates. In fact, the Braves have struck out the most
