Keller and Brubaker

Last off season the Pirates hired a Development Coach from the Rays, whose name escapes me, but I wonder if he has helped with the recent success of both Keller and Brubaker. The Rays always seemed to have some success with their pitchers, possibly this person has been working with the Pirates pitchers to bring out better results.

Dewey Robinson is the name of the Development Coach whom the Pirates hired from the Rays. He had spent 12 years with the Rays as their pitching Development Advisor. He could be the reason why some of our pitchers are looking much better.

Keller, Thompson, Brubaker starting to give us innings, but the bats and the pen are failing them, when they were failing us.

However, Quintana's effectiveness is tailing off. If not for sitting Contreras for now, we actually had the makings of a bonified major league starting rotation right about now. No one spectacular, and every single one of them prone to a bad start, but what a wicked improvement from when the season started.
