The Bucs get Colin Holderman a 6'7" righty reliever.

Greg Allen was also activated and place on the roster for tonight's game.

Seems like a fair trade for all.

Don't know much about Holderman. Wish Vogleback well.

I never heard of Holderman. But he had good minor league stats and pitched well for the Mets this year.

I watched the Mets' pre-game and their talking heads were not enthusiastic about the trade. Which I guess it means they think the Pirates won the deal?

Real nice stats. Missed a couple years. But I like it, plus 5 more years of control.

I think there was value in keeping Vogelbach here through next season,. He’d have served in a couple of valuable ways: as a DH with power, a role best held by a veteran player, and as a mentor to the young players. I don’t know anything about Holderman, maybe this will be a good trade for the Pirates, but Vogie could also have served a good purpose here. Maybe he can be resigned in the offseason, or a player like him with similar skills.
