I’m pretty bummed out

I was hoping for Elijah Green

Johnson is small and a middle infielder. We are already stacked with middle infielder. Green in 6’3”” with big power and speed

Green also spoke very well. Johnson’s seems very cocky calling himself the best player in the draft. Not very classy IMO.

Rangers blew up the first round by taking Kumar Rocker #3.

Former Steeler tight end Eric Green's son, Elijah, went #5 to the Nats.

Also I was hoping that Rocker would be available with the Pirates #36 pick. Texas blew that up!

I realize we are stacked with middle infielders. I think that

Cherington's plan is to be able to use them in trades

I agree with you, they are stacked with middle infielders, but it may be 3 or 4 years until we see Johnson in Pittsburgh. I like the idea he is rated a pure hitter. I like the choice, and the confidence he has.

Just turned 18 few weeks ago. Maybe he can still grow a few inches. Lets hope he signs quick and get him some ab`s.

Pirates passed on HS studs last year in Lawler and Meyer, both those guys are raking this year.

He did seem very confident when they interviewed him.

I’m warming up to the pick. Although I still would have liked to see Green in a Buc uniform.

I like Johnson’s confidence and work ethic.

Some analysts are comparing him with Joe Morgan

I could live with that!
