This is a solid line-up, although I'd like to see Suwinski up here and starting over Mitchell. Nice to see Marcano staying in the line-up and leading off. Dare we hope that we've seen the last of VanMeter?

While the game is delayed, it might be fun to remember fun facts from this date in Pirate history:
8/5/1921 KDKA broadcasts the first game in MLB history.
8/5/1969. Willie Stargell hits the first ball completely out of Dodger Stadium —- 506 feet from home plate.
8/5/1977 — After getting beaned, then punched in the first game of a Doubleheader vs. the Reds, SS Frank Taveras hit his only HR as a Pirate in the nightcap—-an inside-the-park grand slam.
