I would say that is the best lineup Shelton can put on the field

Hayes homered yesterday. In the Shelton playbook that means Hayes earned a day off.

With a 1st inning single, Reynolds is now batting .450 in his last 6 games.

Shelton continues to baffle us with his stupidity

Sadly, it's no longer baffling. It's his predictable thought process. Good performance earns a day off. Bad performance earns a start. What I find baffling is how someone can manage in such a totally counterproductive manner and keep his job. Shelton's decisions aren't just a little off the beaten path. Rather, they indicate confusion and gross incompetence.

I certainly hope that Cherington takes good notes.
