Well, this isn't good. I suppose TJ surgery. Sounds like everyone will (likely) be getting bumped up a slot. Perhaps that's why Harrignton pitched yesterday. I don't see Bubba Chandler coming north (or to Miami) to open the season. No way they want to lose a service year if they don't have to.

And the bucs traded away Ortiz for a guy who is missing all of Spring Training. Horowitz
probably won't add up to a can of beans

This injury seems inevitable with pitchers. They ought to just draft guys and take them into surgery, whether they need it or not, the day after they sign their contract.

It is so crazy that pitchers end up with TJ surgery. One almost sits cautiously at each game hoping the pitcher doesn’t injure his elbow or arm. The Pirates do have pitching depth, but you hate to see one of the young pitchers do go down with an injury. If Jones ends up with TJ surgery it will open opportunities for Harrington, Burrows, Ashcraft, Oviedo and Chandler. I am going to assume Oviedo will be back around June.

Pitchers today are throwing so hard, and trying to spin the ball so fast, that it’s no wonder so many of them are having injuries to their elbows. It’s perplexing to me that organizations spend so much money on pitching yet they don’t seem to mind that they increase the chances of damaging them.

"Sources: No torn ligaments, no surgery for Jared Jones. He will go six weeks without throwing. Overall encouraging news for the Pirates."

That's good news. But I wonder what the problem is and how well it will be resolved.

Probably the Pirates will put him on the 60 Day IL because by the time he returns it will be close to mid June. This will make it possible to add Borucki to the Opening Day roster.
