My observations..
1) Skenes has incredible stuff. Best P in baseball.
2) Rotation by mid season should be Skenes , Jones Keller , Chandler and Barco. Jones should make a big step forward and Barco is vastly underrated . Ortiz's role is ?
3) York and Cook really improve the team , while Davis fades into the sunset .
4) The lineup will be decent and if our horrible owner will pony up for a big bat , we can contend .
5) BP should be pretty solid but no dominant closer .

You make many good points. I sure wish ownership agrees to spend money on a bat for the middle of the order. It will be interesting if they decide to move Reynolds from the outfield to first base. If so, they need a power bat for left field. I was thinking during today’s game, that if they had brought Cook, and Yorke up right after the trade deadline would they not have tanked as bad as they did in August? We will never know.

Won't happen. Another 75-80 win season.

drive for 75 has a nice ring to it. Might be Bob's favorite slogan other than sentiment has no cash value.

What is the likelihood that Endy gets switched to a new position. If Reynolds moves to first, that would open an outfield spot. Bart seems pretty capable as a catcher so why have two good athletes in the same position? If Cutch comes back (which seems likely) then you can use the DH role to keep them both in the game (offensively).

If Cutch comes back, I look at his bum knee and legs and think he will be a part-time DH and PH.
With Endy, does he back up Bart? Where does Davis fit in? If Reynolds is the everyday 1B could Endy give him a day off and let Reynolds be the DH? There are a lot of things that need working out this off-season and I hope to hell that Cherrington is not making the decisions.

If Cherington is still GM, we won't have to worry about who plays where. They'll all be in and out of the lineup and playing various positions. Just like this year, every game will be treated as an experimental Grapefruit League game.
