Management is saving them for next year, but not before they sign two, over 35 years old players that will compete with them. Knowing their thinking, they will be bench players mainly. Has not this the Pirates way? On another important note, just can't see all of the hype on Termarr Johnson. Just don't get it. Look at the stats and overall development! Plus, he is showing the same poor attitude like Cruz. Only until a disciplinarian manager and general manager is hired, players like them will continue to alienate the fans. Just watching Cruz conduct himself during games, whether running out of the box, to running bases, and to his many, many boneheaded plays on defense that he almost daily makes, causes baseball fans to e turned off.

Sometimes I think Rocky and Bullwinkle are running the Pirates:

Bullwinkle: "Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a player out of this hat."

Rocky: "Is it Cook or Yorke?"

Bullwinkle: "Nope. Just another Alika Williams."

Rocky: "And now--'Fractured Fairytales'....or, 'What's another name for Cherington's 5-year plan?'

I sure hope they continue to let Cook play the remainder of the games this season. I am probably wrong, but he sure seems like a player who will grind it out. It is only one MLB game, but an exceptional catch, a clutch double to drive in 2 runs, and a second base hit. Very good beginning.

Hopefully some of the veteran players told Cruz that is how you play the game.

Since last Sundays game Cook has struggled at the plate. He is not the first player to struggle whenever he joined the Majors. I sure hope he gets a few hits before the season ends in two weeks.
