I was under the impression that Falter was going tonight. Guess
they want to see if German is worth keeping

I think they're doing this by going a quasi 6 man rotation, because I think German isn't completely stretched out to 100 pitches.
It's a semi bullpen game if you think about it. It's also a way to allow Skenes and Jones to finish pitching the entire season.
I'm good with this, if that's what they're doing. For all I know, they want to line up their best possible rotation for the Nats and Cards, and give Jones and Skenes an extra day of rest.

Too bad the Bucs can't relocate to Wrigley. They're 5-1 there this year. Let's make it 6-1!!

Imanaga, Cubs have won 19 of his 25 starts

Imanaga has allowed 3 or fewer runs in 22 of his 25 starts.
Guess the best we can hope for is German gives Bucs the kind of performance Hendricks gave Cubs last night, bullpen holds, and the Bucs claw out just enough runs.

I wonder if there's a stat on how many times a Pirate pitcher issues a walk in the first inning.
