What is Shelty thinking with William at SS? No matter how bad he is hitting Cruz has to be in there every day.

With Imanaga going, I think defense has to be premium with the likelihood Cruz isn't even putting anything into play. If Falter can get through the first inning, this could easily be a 0-0 game going into the 5-6 inning.
But I understand what you're saying. He's supposed to be all that, and sitting against tough lefties does no good for development. And, if he has some plate discipline, maybe he can draw a walk and actually steal a base.
I mean, if they feel that they could possibly be a playoff team, what if that team were the Cubs, and they were facing Imanaga? Would they sit Cruz in the playoffs?

Shota gonna be tough. 0.96 ERA against our bats is not a pretty thought. Falter gonna have to pitch a gem for us to have any chance today.

Williams just made a play in the hole that Cruz couldn't make even
on his best day.

Just tuned in and I see Falter has thrown 50 pitches in five innings. Doesn’t get much better. Would like to see him stay the course and steal a win.

Falter maintains his 10 pitches per inning pace in the 6th. Still no score. What a great game for those of us who love pitching duels.

Rats. Taylor strikes out on three pitches. Still scoreless through six and a half.
