Might be showing our ages here but here goes. Baseball sure has changed over the years
so I thought it would be interesting to identify some of those we have witnessed. I am not
referring to recent ones like Bobster's Ghost runner or the pitch clock. Changes that started
back in the 50's. I will start with:
New York Giants
Brooklyn Dodgers
Milwaukee Braves
Washinton Senators
Montreal Expos
Interested in what you guys come up with

Philadelphia Athletics to the Kansas City Athletics to the Oakland Athletics to the soon to be Las Vegas Athletics.
The St. Louis Browns to the Baltimore Orioles.
The second iteration of the Washington Senators to the Texas Rangers.

Adding expansion teams in Houston, Colorado, Arizona and adding the Mets in NY.

They use many more relievers now, but guys "warming up in the bullpen" has been drastically reduced. 50 years ago, it wasn't at all unusual for a pitcher to warm up two or three times, and not get into the game at all. Now it's nearly always warm up on schedule, and go right into the game.

The number of complete games by a Pitcher- a complete game was common place
Today it is unusual

One great change has been the elimination of the all-purpose stadiums and the return of baseball-only ballparks. The game is so much better played on grass in parks where the outfield dimensions are all unique to one another. I do, however, wish that the various architects had laid out the fields so that the walls were moved back another 30-50 feet so that there were less home runs and more triples, with the increased chance of additional inside-the-park HRs.

Ball parks going from all grass, to almost half of them artificial turf, back to almost all grass.

When the astroturf ruled, pre- post modern revitalization era: Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, St Louis, Montreal, Houston, San Francisco, Toronto, Seattle, Kansas City, Minnesota, Chicago White Sox infield. Some teams switched back at some point.

Now there are only 5 teams that play on an artificial surface: Toronto, Tampa Bay, Texas, Arizona, and Miami. All the domed stadiums.
