Bucs

3B K. Hayes R
LF B. Reynolds S
DH A. McCutchen R
1B Connor Joe R
RF M. Andujar R
SS L. Peguero R
CF J. Suwinski L
2B Vinny "Crap"ra R
C Jason Delay R
SP Johan Oviedo R

Cards

CF L. Nootbaar L
DH P. Goldschmidt R
2B Nolan Gorman L
3B N. Arenado R
1B A. Burleson L
RF J. Walker R
LF R. Palacios L
C A. Knizner R
SS Tommy Edman S
SP Zack Thompson L

It's a day game after a night game so Endy has to sit. At least Capra is not playing 3B. Then there is Suwinski starting against a lefty. Maybe it's a bullpen game for the Cards and Shelty's intuition tells him that the Cards will bring in a righty before Suwinski comes to bat.

Bae obviously needs a rest since he’s been getting on base too much recently. The lad must be exhausted.

Bucs retired on seven pitches in the first. Not a good start but, then again, the last two games also had shaky beginnings.

One batter in, Oviedo has given up half as many hits as he did in nine innings in his last start.

Oviedo's pitches aren't even close. :(

Oviedo can’t find the strike zone. 18 pitches, only eight for strikes. He’s walked two. Bases loaded, no outs for Arenado.

Nice play by Hayes to rob Arenado of extra bases and get a force at home.

Bucs get out of it. Why would Burlson swing on a 2-0 outside pitch when the bases are loaded and Oviedo can't find the strike zone? Instead of 3-0 count, that made it 2-1 and he popped up on next pitch.

Unfreaking believeable! Oviedo gets a couple of pop ups to end the inning. The Cardinals of 2023 are playing like the Pirates of, oh, pick any year in the past seven.
