Tonight is the battle of the $373 million Mets payroll vs.
the $75 million Pirates payroll.

Is anything wrong with Palacios? With a right hande going for the Mets, I
would think that he would be in left and not Connor Joe. I do know that this
makes Possum happy because he is a big fan of Joe

If the Mets and Yankees and their large payrolls finish in last place in their divisions in 2023 it would be the first time since Expansion that they have both been in last place.

The announcers were wondering about that yesterday and speculated that he was sick.

Tonight's "shorten the game" strike zone is about 6 inches on either side of the plate.

Davis continues to make mistakes but we need his bat in the lineup-

Priester was given a lead and couldn't even hold it for half an inning. And now he's trailing 2-1. ERA is now 8.277 This is his 6th game and every one of them has been awful. He's obviously not ready to face MLB hitters. Throwing him to the wolves like this can't be good for him. He's not improving. It's at the point now where the only one to blame is Cherington. Priester needs to be in AAA.

Hayes continues his hot hitting. Drives in Joe who had doubled
