A year or two ago he was a highly regarded prospect in the Astros organization. Since he was signed to a minor league deal, he doesn’t take up a roster spot at this time. Maybe he is a player who needed a change of scenery. I have no problem with taking a chance with this player.

Perez has only been with Altoona for about two weeks, but he hit his fourth homer tonight. I know there are many times the Bucs sign or claim a player, and there is a lot of negative reaction. Perez was a high draft choice of the Astros, and maybe in this case they found a diamond in the rough.

Perez with his 5th home run tonight. I would expect he will be a non roster invitee to ST in 2024. He has been very good since he was signed a couple weeks ago.

Perez three more hits tonight including his sixth homer. I am hoping the Astros gave up on him a little too soon.
