From Major League Trade Rumors about Carlos G.

Gonzalez is hitting a productive .300/.350/.523, even if it is aided by playing at Coors Field, and is owed a reasonable $37MM over the next two seasons

Will the Pirates ever consider that much a reasonable amount for a player?

Hell No!!! :-/

Cutch will bounce back next year and we can parlay him at the trade deadline, if we are out of it .

Given the inflation rate in baseball salaries I suspect the Pirates will consider that kind of salary acceptable sometime just prior to the 2026 season, barring of course the sale of the team before that.
