Saw where Travis Wood, former Cubbie and Reds pitcher, is available. he wants to start again. What do other Buuco Fans think of Travis making the Bucs better in 2017?

I don't mind Travis Wood. I probably wouldn't give him much of a raise if any (made $6 million last year). If he can't make the rotation, he can go to the bullpen.

If Watson wins his arbitration case does anyone remember seeing what the payroll for 2017 will be. Still believe there is a budget for next year and if they are close I would not expect any other signings. Maybe a minor league deal with a spring training invite. Without moving Watson, Cutch or Harrison I doubt the team could of fit Quintana under there budget.

Pirates Prospects site shows 2017 payroll to be somewhere over $100 million if Watson wins or loses his arbitration hearing.

Hammel would be a good choice, but I think the Bucs would prefer to have a left handed starting pitcher in the rotation.

Hammel or Wood would slot people accordingly in our rotation.

Cole, Taillon, Nova, Hammel/Wood, Kühl.

That is better than Cole, Taillon, Nova, Kuhl, Hutchinson

I find it interesting that the most talented arm we have (Glasnow) isn't above Hutchinson in your projections. Don't sleep on the talent, plus Uncle Ray!

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Hutchinson gets some pixie dust from Ray too...and Kuhl ends up in the pen where he probably will be best long term.

Glasnow will be the Super 2 call up. He won't make the team out of Spring Training.

If no pitcher is brought in, I also see Hutchison as the fifth starter.
