4/9 Game thread Cole goes for the sweep...

Alright going for 3 in a row today. Yes last night's game was an ugly win and very sloppy but at the end of the day we'll take it and they are count the same. The Braves aren't a very good team and the Pirates need to take advantage of this by stacking 2 or maybe even 3 wins which they have a chance to do today. Let's hope Cole pitches like he did in the 1st 4 innings on Monday in Boston.

When they put themselves in a position to sweep they need to finish the job.

Confused why Frazier is at third today as he played second yesterday?
Cole threw mostly fastballs. I think he threw only five sliders.

Garrett throws a 98 mph fastball that everybody seems to square up. He's not blowing past anybody. Long at bats with a lot of fouls, hard hit balls, walks, high pitch counts. Among other things it's got to hurt his confidence.
I'd rank him 3rd on the staff, until Glasnow passes him.

Have said for the last two years, he isn't a true ace. He has the stuff to potentially be one, but ...
By the season's end, he will be third in our rotation as far as most effective.

What the heck Marte! He should be out twice. Man, that guy was must have been literally asleep.

And Cole gives a run right back. Not only is he not an ace since last year. He's not even a good pitcher anymore.
