game day went totally haywire for me. Still has Mike Leake batting in bottom of third at 8:37 central time.

ESPN is current for me but I was following Pens on it (and just wanted to give mlb some love). Although ESPN Box score has to be messed up. It is showing Frazier with 6 at bats for example.

I really don't know why I'm following this game. I have office work to do late, so I'm working on my desktop, and watching the game on my laptop. But this bugs me...maybe I'm just salty about the Pirates today, but I really wish McCutchen would try to steal here. Worst case scenario, Polanco leads off the ninth. Best case, he gets into scoring position. This offense is pathetic. There is potential there, with Bell and Polanco, but not much beyond that. I'm only 35, but I seriously wonder if I'll ever see the Pirates win a World Series in my lifetime, or even get to a WS, or heck...even get to the NLCS.

Extremely frustrating loss. After sweeping the Cubs, Nova and Kuhn pitch lights out and all we can manage is a single run inboth games. Bucs out hit the Cards 11-4, have the dreaded bases loaded in the ninth with only one out, and we get to watch Gosselin crap himself. Pitiful.

Well, a certain Korean third baseman and a certain Dominican center fielder would have certainly lengthened the bench in that situation. With Kang and Marte, this lineup is good and deep. Without them, I feel like I jumped through a time warp back to 2002 and I'm watching Mike Benjamin again. We're back to playing typical pre-2013 Pittsburgh Pirates baseball...doing just enough to make it interesting, but still lose.

Anyway...on the bright side of things...1-5, our rotation is as good as any in the majors.

Let me see Pirates get 11 hits score 1 run, Cards get 4 hits 2 runs, thats Cardinal baseball they take advantage of every little thing and Pirates and Hurdle squander every opportunity.  I really dislike Gosselin awful at bat why is he on this team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8rxPrV ... 8rxPrV-tn4

How is this Hurdle's fault?
